These pine trees just off Tower Drive near the airport look like they are in distress. Most of them look like the top third of each tree is dying. There are acres of these trees, and I'm wondering whether the area will soon be treeless or at least full of totally dead trees.

Hi Rob,
It is a problem everywhere this year. Marianne has lost so many shrubs and the others are not doing as well as they should.

Winter injury: A combination of warm temperatures just above freezing and strong, drying winds in late winter or early spring can cause this problem. Needles turn red-brown in spring, fading to light brown by summer. Take steps to protect the trees from the sun and wind, using screens.

Also, when they are near a road or highway - salt!
It has turned a number of my motor vehicles the same colour. The major difference being that turn that colour from the bottom, up.
Wonder if there is any acreage for sale up there?
