I've crossed over the Welland Canal a number of times on the QEW going 110 kmph, but our bike trip last week offered the first chance to see it up close and slower.

Mr. P., Tod and Mike lead us up the canal from the 1st lock to the 2nd lock.

And, of course, to see a laker going through the canal was an added bonus.

I'm not sure if this laker is named Pineglen because I thought their names were on the stern.

The laker looks a little high in the water to be full. I s'pose there are still ports of call ahead of it, though.
