Here's another example of survival - I find it very interesting the lengths some trees go to hang on to rocks.

Field, Ontario, got pretty much wiped out in 1979 when the Sturgeon River flooded.  I don't know if this gas station was a victim of the flood or of economic reasons, but it sits in the area that was decimated by the flood.

I just returned from a one and a half four day modified canoe/kayak trip down the Sturgeon River from River Valley to south of Field with some Killer Strawberries - the Ice Marshall, Butcher Brophey ( and yes he did work, once upon a time, in a butcher shop) and Freight Train Laronde.  It was, as usual, awesome!!

Had a great time at the Neelin Family Pig Roast in Oxford Mills on the weekend.  Thanks Mike and Clude - I had a fabulous time!

A nice flat, calm lake - perfect for a morning paddle.

This is the stern of the Fortuitous.  She's been and continues to be a great boat. Pretty good for a 25 year old gal.

Early Morning Cottage Reflection

Tuesday, July 17, 2012

This is the point at the end of our road. The last place at the end is a little used cottage with the red chairs on the point.

Southbound Jet in the Early Evening

Sunday, July 15, 2012

Bill's drive on the 15th hole at Clear Springs yesterday travelled about 50 feet, then smacked into Denis' golf bag and lodged in the top of the bag.  I suppose we could have just carried the bag the length of the hole and then let the ball fall out of the bag on the green for a tap in eagle, but we are "sportsmen" afterall.

I made this panorama shot from 4 photos I took this morning as I cruised across the lake to help a friend tow his boat for repairs.
Morning Lakeside Reflection

The whole family gathered for supper last night including my mom and her sisters from Stratford.

Towing the green canoe across the lake last evening for Mr. P.  He now has "water" transportation.

This is the view of our place from the lake.

Nothing like an early morning paddle on a calm, flat lake - priceless!!

Full moon last night over Trout Lake.

Wednesday, July 04, 2012

Nothing like summer sunsets over the lake.

Tuesday, July 03, 2012

I went for a "spin" on one of Bob's kayaks yesterday morning.  He and his wife paddled over to our place earlier in the weekend.  I towed the other kayak behind me as I returned them to him.  The paddling included a short portage over the road separating 4 Mile Bay from the main lake.
Nice moon rise at our beach fire last night.

OK, here we go with another in the series "What Is It?"  Any guesses?
