I took these Lake Nipissing photos last week while we had summer. Right now we're back to winter, so I'm sure the ice is back a bit.

Here in Northern Ontario I've seen many trees growing out of rocks and other weird places, but I've never seen a white pine grow out of a maple tree.

The photo is a bit shaky due to extreme zoom, but you can clearly see the ice building up on the Manitou islands (8 miles from shore where I took the photo) of Lake Nipissing as the wind blows the ice around the lake.

Last night after 1am we had a couple of pre-spring thunderstorms roll through our area - lots of thunder, lightning, rain and hail. There was still hail on our driveway at 9am, see photos, when I left for work.

It was a gorgeous sunny pre-spring day yesterday with the temp around +10C. Our across-the-lake neighbour, Mr. P., strolled across the lake for a visit. In this photo he's walking back home in the late afternoon. He's the red speck right above the arrow.
