Return of the Cold
After a weekend of 3 days in a row of daily 2 hour snowblowing, we're going back in the deep freeze for most of the next few weeks. I'm not sure which I dislike more - warmer temperatures and lots of snow or clear, sunny fricking freezing weather.

Abandoned Farm
This is an abandoned farm just outside Kemptville, ON. It doesn't take long for nature to take over from man.

Snowshoeing
My grandfather Vic, on the right, with 2 of his brothers all bundled up for some snowshoeing. I wonder if the temperatue was as cold as it was yesterday. Nice socks, Grandad.

Sledding
It's that time of year again ... repairing the sled so you can drive it a while to repair it again, repeat.

Snow
It's definitely winter here at the lake. More snow is expected overnight, and then we will go into a deep freeze for quite a few days with temperatures dipping to -36C at night.

Ice On
This is just a quick snap with my iPhone of the newly formed ice on Trout Lake. I'm not too impressed as it's at least 8-10 days earlier than normal, and it's -20C outside and going to get colder. I know global climate change is a reality, I just thought it meant we would be getting warmer, not colder.

Key West, Fla
I sure would rather be down near this house or somewhere similar this winter than up here in the frozen north.

Havana, Cuba
On a nasty blustery day here in the mid-north, I decided to post a photo from one of our Cuba trips. This was taken on the edge of Havana's downtown looking north towards the Caribean Sea.

Watch this 9/11 video
This video is a must see. I've always believed 9/11 was more than it seemed. The video describes how a lot of the official explanation of the collapse of the twin towers and tower 7 was a bunch of hoo-ee, or in other words, a load of crap. See for your self:

One Mile Bay
This is One Mile Bay yesterday just before we hauled out Walpole's boat for the season. It looks way worse today as it's snowing and raining and really windy. It should be fun today taking out the 3 docks that are on the schedule!

Dock Out
This is the dock removal a couple of years ago. We'll be doing this again this weekend. I sure hope we get a similar sized crew this year.

Dream Catcher
Now here's a great Dream Catcher. It's about 3 feet in diameter and hangs from a pine tree at the Screaming Heads farm on Midlothian Road in Burks Falls, ON.

Trout Lake Sunset, Oct. 9, 2013
I took these sunset photos last night with my iPhone before we settled in to watch the "after sunset" meteor shower. The meteor shower was a bust - not even a drizzle - but the sunset was spectacular. The photos have not been enhanced in any way. They are raw from the iPhone. The only thing I did was re-size them.

Early Autumn, Trout Lake
I had Photoshop Elements stitch together 3 photos from my iPhone, after I played with them with Camera Plus.
